Development for the Complete Athlete

From foundational training to individualized coaching, Trinity Triathlon provides intentional programming that helps young athletes grow stronger, smarter, and race-ready.

IMG_8995.JPG

At Trinity Triathlon, coaching is about more than preparing for race day. It’s about developing confident, disciplined, and resilient young athletes through intentional swim, bike, and run training. Our programs are designed to support long-term athletic growth, teaching proper technique, endurance development, and mental toughness in a structured, age-appropriate environment.

Whether through group training or individualized 1:1 coaching, athletes receive guidance that meets them where they are and challenges them to grow. We focus on steady progression, safe development, and building the kind of confidence that lasts far beyond the finish line.

What Athletes Will Learn

During these sessions, athletes will focus on developing the core skills needed for youth triathlons.

These skills help athletes complete a smooth and successful transition during a triathlon event.

Transition Skills are a critical part of triathlons. We will provide detailed training on how to transition between sports correctly and efficiently.

Swim Training Information
Our program offers two group training options: athletes may participate in one session per week or two sessions per week. The twice-per-week training group includes swim coaching as part of the program, allowing athletes to receive guided instruction on swim technique, efficiency, and confidence in the water.

Athletes participating in the once-per-week training option will focus on biking, running, and transition skills during group sessions. For those athletes, we strongly encourage practicing swimming independently outside of weekly sessions to maintain and improve swim fitness and overall triathlon readiness.

Bike Skills and Confidence

  • Learning the basics of riding a a bike safely

  • Improving balance, control, and riding awareness

  • Building confidence riding in a group environment

  • Building the strength and endurance to complete the bike portion of the race

Run Development

  • Building endurance through conditioning

Transition Skills

Personalized 1:1 Coaching & Training

For athletes who want a more customized training experience, Trinity Triathlon also offers personalized coaching plans.

With this option, Coach Joanna Schmid will schedule a one-on-one meeting with the athlete and parents to discuss goals, current fitness level, and training availability. Based on that conversation, Coach Joanna will create a personalized weekly training plan designed to help the athlete improve and grow in the sport of triathlon.

Why Choose Personalized Coaching

Personalized coaching provides athletes with a training plan designed specifically for them. Every athlete develops at a different pace, and a customized plan helps ensure they are training in a way that is safe, effective, and enjoyable.

With personalized coaching, athletes receive structured guidance, regular feedback, and adjustments to their training as they improve. This helps build confidence, improve performance, and keeps training fun and motivating as they grow in the sport of triathlon.

Safe Community

WHAT OUR ATHLETES AND PARENTS ARE SAYING...

"Instilled self-confidence"

Our daughter was definitely hesitant to start, but the energy of the other kids was contagious. Doing something new and difficult turned out to be so much fun for her. Finishing her first triathlon instilled a deep sense of self-confidence in Keenedy that is hard to find anywhere else.

Nelson, parent of triathlon athlete

"Confidence You Can See"

We’ve tried other sports, but this was different. The structure and positive coaching helped our daughter push herself in ways we hadn’t seen before. She left the event talking about her goals for next year. As a parent, that growth means everything.

Rebecca. parent of 11 year old athlete

"Safe, Organized, Inspiring"

From check-in to the finish line, everything felt professional and well thought out. The safety standards gave us peace of mind, and the energy of the event made it so much fun for the kids. Trinity Triathlon balances competition and character perfectly.
